Nixon accepts BPL Challenge

Head Coach Paul Nixon will be heading to Bangladesh to link up with former-employers, Chattogram Challengers, for the 2022 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
With the first ball of the competition being bowled on Friday, January 21, 2022, Nixon will fly out to meet his new squad and colleagues ahead of the Challengers’ first fixture.
Nixon has been Head Coach of the Challengers in previous years and will continue his relationship with the Chattogram based side.
Upon agreeing to join the Challengers, Nixon said: “The Challengers are a fantastic franchise that I know well having spent time with them in the past.
“The Bangladesh Premier League is a very hard-fought competition which is about maximising players’ natural abilities and being adaptable.
“It is great to be involved globally once again, and I am looking forward to the opportunity.â€

Claude Henderson, commented: “It is great that Nico [Paul Nixon] is flying the
Leicestershire flag around the world.
“He is well-travelled in the world of cricket and I have no doubt that he will perform well over in Bangladesh, and will bring new ideas back to Leicestershire when he returns.â€
Nixon heads up a coaching team that includes former-Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait in Bangladesh, and Dato K. M. Rifatuzzaman, Managing Director of Chattogram Challengers is pleased on Nixon’s return: “We are proud to have Paul Nixon back on the team as our Head Coach for the second time.
“Paul’s contributions make him an invaluable resource to Chattogram Challengers and the BPL.â€
