Nixon: "Let's make first game a sellout!"

Head Coach Paul Nixon has called on the Foxes fans to pack out the Fischer County Ground and recreate the unique Vitality Blast atmospheres that he experienced as a player.
Tickets for Nixon’s first season in charge of the Foxes are now on sale with offers in place for a huge opening weekend of T20 action against Durham Jets (Friday, July 6) and Notts Outlaws (Sunday, July 8).
All adult tickets cost just £10 as the Foxes take on Durham Jets on Friday, July 6 while there is a family focus for the visit of local rivals Notts Outlaws on Sunday, July 8 with all junior tickets on sale for £1 each.
Nixon said: “The T20 competition is one I had lots of success in. I loved playing at the FCG in front of a big crowd, I always felt the support helped us get over the line in close games.
“I really hope you’ll join us for as many fixtures as possible, I will be doing everything I can to make this summer a successful one for the side and there is something enjoyable and special about T20 evenings here.”
Last season saw the Leicestershire Foxes reach the quarter-finals stage of the competition and throughout the group stages there were many fantastic T20 Blast matches, as you can see in a video HERE.
Nixon has enjoyed lots of success in T20 throughout his career. As well as being a key part of all three of the Foxes’ trophy wins, he also twice coached the Jamaica Tallawahs to victory in the Caribbean Premier League.
The Head Coach is looking forward to an action-packed schedule which includes a big opening weekend at the Fischer County Ground against the Jets and Outlaws.
“The T20 format is a massive momentum game,” he said. “If we can get on a run of positive performances and results they will continue throughout the tournament. We start at Northants and then have two games here, which we’re all looking forward to.
“We have a really exciting squad; a great mixture of young lads who are keen to impress and senior players who have so much experience and know what it takes to win T20 matches.”
