Leicestershire CCC Head Coach Paul Nixon will link up with Pakistan domestic side Sindh next month after being selected by the PCB to be one of three overseas head coaches for the upcoming Quaid e Azam Trophy and Pakistan Cup.
Nixon will link up with his new side for a three-month long coaching stint in early October, before returning to the East Midlands to resume his responsibilities with the Foxes in late December.
One of six domestic sides in Pakistan, Sindh boast strong international pedigree in their squad, with Nixon set to have the likes of Shan Masood, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sohail Khan at his disposal.
The side have proven to be a successful outfit of late, beating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by eight wickets to be crowned National T20 Cup champions earlier this month.
Nixon has already tasted success of his own when coaching overseas, with the 51-year-old claiming the Caribbean Premier League T20 title in both spells as Head Coach for Jamaica Tallawahs in 2013 and 2016.
Speaking about his selection, Nixon said: “Firstly, I’m very thankful to Leicestershire for allowing me to pursue this rare and valuable opportunity.
“I’m excited to work alongside several Pakistan internationals and to look at future stars. I’m confident the experience will help me gain new knowledge in a top-class environment, which I can bring back to the Foxes.â€
