REPORT | The first day of the Specsavers County Championship match between Leicestershire CCC and Derbyshire CCC has been abandoned without a ball bowled.
With steady and persistent rain falling during the morning, umpires Jeff Evans and Michael Gough decided to take an early lunch at 12 noon.
Rain was still falling at 12.30pm and with a poor forecast for the rest of the day, there was no chance of play at the Fischer County Ground today, and play was abandoned.
