October Hits New Heights for Conferencing and Banqueting at LCCC

Following the recent announcement that the Conferencing and Banqueting facilities at the Uptonsteel County Ground were once again back in full use, the Club can now announce a record month for the catering team.

In comparison to any other October in the history of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, October 2021 witnessed a record number of sales recorded, translating into a 64% increase in sales versus the forecast budget.

Last month saw the Charles Palmer Suite host the likes of Business Network International (BNI) Meetings, Needham Ladies, Leicester Lions Speedway, Leicester City Council, the Umpires Association as well as the Leicestershire CCC Celebration of Trophies Anniversary Dinner.

Catering Manager at Leicestershire County Cricket Club, John Stew, commented: “Unfortunately during the course of the 2021 season, we lost the functionality of the Charles Palmer Suite as it was assigned to the visiting team - but it has been great to open it up to the public once again.

“We have seen a huge amount of interest to use our conference and banqueting facilities here at the Uptonsteel County Ground following the conclusion of the pandemic, and this is shown by the sales recorded throughout October.”

He continued: “We of course stayed in contact with our clients over the past 18 months which has been repaid by their loyalty.

“We are continuing to rebuild our reputation and are looking to get back to where we were at before the pandemic struck.”

Grace Road has a number of facilities ranging from our 200-strong Charles Palmer Suite which is perfect for large conferences or training seminars, to executive boxes that can accommodate from as little as four to as many as 12 for more intimate meetings.

In particular, the Charles Palmer Suite is much sought after at this time of year with the Club re-introducing their indulgent party nights to the non-cricketing calendar.
