One Million Up!

Leicestershire County Cricket Club played their first first-class game in 1894, so this will be our 110th year, when you take out the seasons affected by the two world wars.

By the end of the 2014 season, Leicestershire moved to within 4,300 runs of reaching 1,000,000 in first-class cricket.

Leicestershire scored 7,756 runs last season, so this landmark is almost certainly going to be broken in 2015*.

To celebrate the milestone, we are running a competition for a bit of fun that will also raise vital funds for Friends of Grace Road.

The prize is the chance for four people to watch a day’s LV=CC play from one of our hospitality suites and we will also provide lunch in the Charles Palmer Suite and some afternoon tea.

You have to guess which Leicestershire batsman will score the magical run. We are also asking you to guess the opponents and the date it will be scored on to help in a tie-break situation.

In the event that more than one person gets all criteria correct, the winning entry will be the one that was entered the earliest.

Entry costs £1 and you can enter as many times as you wish. We ask for your entry fee upon receiving the form but you can hand it in at any stage prior to the end of play on Sunday, June 7 (Leicestershire versus Surrey).

But remember - that in the event of a tie, the earliest entry will win! Entry forms can be picked up from main reception or from the Friends of Grace Road in the Meet, or downloaded HERE

* In the unlikely event that 4,300 runs are not scored in 2015, the competition will be relaunched in 2016. Employees of Leicestershire CCC are not allowed to enter the official competition.
