Outlaws game is washed out

The final NatWest T20 Blast match of the season at Grace Road between Leicestershire Foxes and Nottinghamshire Outlaws was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Steady and persistent rain was forecast for the afternoon and sadly it proved to be correct, arriving at the ground shortly after midday.

Umpires Steve Gale and Neil Mallender monitored the situation and conducted numerous inspections. Although the rain briefly relented around 6.10pm, it came again half an hour later and the umpires had no choice but to call the game off.

The three North group games that were pivotal to qualification on the last day were washed out so Northants Steelbacks and Lancashire Lightning joined Birmingham Bears and Worcestershire Rapids in the last eight.
