Parkinson makes half-century for Enderby

Callum Parkinson had a good all-round game for Enderby but the Everards Premier League newcomers lost for a second Saturday in succession.

The slow left arm spinner took 1-39 off his 10 overs as Sileby scored 262-6. Opener Dave Torr was again in the runs, making a fine 102.

Parkinson scored 67 batting at three but Enderby were bowled out for 212, former Foxes spinner Jigar Naik claiming 3-28 off 8.3 overs.

Foxes duo Harry Swindells and Sam Evans were Ivanhoe’s top-scorers for a second week in a row but the hosts had to settle for a draw against Syston.

Former Leicestershire Academy duo George Corbett and Charles Wootton made scores in the 60s as Syston made 221-6 and Ivanhoe closed at 209-8 as Swindells made 75 and Evans scored 39.

Charles Page-Morris was the star of Kibworth’s winning draw against Rothley Park. The number three amassed 142 in a score of 263, the home side replying with 186-6 as former Glamorgan star Michael Reed ended at 54 not out.

Foxes all-rounder Will Fazakerley and Academy player Ben Mike both shone as Barkby United and Loughborough Town drew.

Barkby batted first and put 221-8 on the board as Ian Kirk hit a half-century. Loughborough replied with 191-8 with Mike scoring 67 and Fazakerley claiming 4-37.

Harry Dearden played for Kegworth, who have recorded two 30-point hauls since returning to the Premier League.

Openers Adam Meads and Brent Williams scored half-centuries as Kegworth set Harborough 202 to win but they slipped to 54-7 in reply as Alex Fletcher and Jordan Holmes took three wickets apiece.

Zain Mir dug in to make 42 but Kegworth were not to be denied, Academy player James Dickinson (7-1-20-1) and Dearden (8-1-23-1) taking two of the remaining three wickets with their spin.

The day’s highest scorers were Barrow Town, for who opener Ramesh Kara carried his bat for 137 in a score of 304-5.
Visitors Lutterworth closed at 222-7, all-rounder Sardeep Salgotra following up his 60 batting at three for Barrow by claiming 3-46. Lutts opener Ollie Pickering made their highest score of 55.
