Leicestershire CCC is extremely saddened to learn of the passing of former player Paul Munden.
Paul played for Leicestershire CCC between 1957 and 1964 as a left-handed batsman, scoring 1,193 runs in 47 first-class appearances.
He also played for Leicester Nomads, Leicester Town, Lutterworth and Loughborough Town during his career. Paul passed away in Thailand, where he lived with his wife.
The Munden family has had a long association with Leicestershire CCC. Paul’s brothers Victor and Donald, and Paul’s nephew David, also represented the club.
Victor, who sadly passed away in September 2016, was a left arm spinner who made 228 first-class appearances for Leicestershire CCC.
He took 368 first-class wickets at 28.34 and also scored 5,681 runs for the club. Right-handed batsman Donald also played seven times for Leicestershire CCC, scoring 98 runs.
David, a left-handed batsman and leg-spin bowler, represented the club's Second XI from 1975 to 1981. He then had a successful career as a cricket photographer after retiring from playing.
It has been an extremely difficult time for the Munden family, with David passing away last month. Leicestershire CCC would like to pass on its deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the Munden family.
