Peter 'Syd' Hancock

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Peter Hancock.
Affectionately known as ‘Syd’ by his many friends at the club, Peter worked in the accounts department at Grace Road for many years.
Peter was a hugely popular person at the club, and as well as being brilliant at his job, also helped to organise social events as well.
Leicestershire CCC Corporate Partnerships Manager Tracey Branson, who worked with Peter for a number of years, said: “’Syd’ was a lovely man and things just won’t be the same without him. His quick wit and brilliant sense of humour could brighten any room and we will miss him dearly.”
A funeral service will be held for Peter at Gilrose Crematorium on Wednesday, June 20 at 9am. Flowers welcome or donations if wished for LOROS may be given on the day of the funeral.
Leicestershire CCC will also hold a celebration of Peter’s life on a date to be confirmed.
