Neil Pinner registered back-to-back half-centuries as Leicestershire CCC had another good day of pre-season action.
Matchday regulations were the same as yesterday but Leicestershire batted first this time around in more pleasant conditions at Grace Road.
Dan Redfern (retired 55) and Matthew Boyce (31) put on 61 for the first wicket before Boyce played on attempting to leave. Ned Eckersley (3) and Lewis Hill (2) also fell before lunch.
Pinner played well in posting 51 and he, like Redfern, called time on his innings to allow others an opportunity at the crease. Aadil Ali (13) and Tom Wells (10) were dismissed after the interval before Jigar Naik (24*) and James Sykes (6*) saw County up to 213-7 from their allocation.
Leeds-Bradford MCCU started their innings in beautiful sunshine - a far cry from yesterday. Ollie Freckingham and Alex Wyatt took the wickets of openers Steve Bullen (22) and Henry Thompson (16) before Billy Root (60) and Logan Weston (32) added 78 for the third wicket.
The Students moved to 143-2 but Ben Raine had an immediate effect by dismissing the set pair in consecutive overs. The all-rounder bowled Weston before having Root caught behind by Lewis Hill.
Jigar Naik trapped Ryan McKendry (0) leg before Raine struck again, bowling Harry Rouse (9), as County took four wickets for the addition of 16 runs.
Naik, James Sykes and Aadil Ali then bowled through to stumps, with slow left armer Sykes taking a good low return catch to dismiss Alex Lilley (11). Archie Ogden’s unbeaten 32, combined with Chris Harwood’s 18 not out, guided the visitors to 217-7
Bowling figures for Leicestershire: Shreck 6-0-42-0, Freckingham 6-1-12-1, Wells 6-0-48-0, Wyatt 6-1-31-1, Naik 7-0-17-1, Raine 4-0-13-3, Sykes 8-0-38-1, Ali 2-0-12-0.
