The all-rounder has now scored 1,170 runs and taken 115 wickets in all competitions for the club as he continues to go from strength to strength in his career.

Raine said: “I’m really enjoying my cricket at Leicestershire County Cricket Club and I’m pleased to commit my future to the club. We are definitely moving in the right direction and have taken big strides forward this season, so there are exciting times ahead.

“I’d also like to thank Clint McKay and Charlie Shreck for all of their support. They have been like older brothers to me this season, guiding and pushing me along, and I couldn’t have done it without their help.”

Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Chief Executive Wasim Khan MBE said: “It is terrific news for Leicestershire County Cricket Club that Ben has signed another extension with us.

“Ben has had a fantastic season for us both with bat and ball. He is a young cricketer who is only getting better and better and is an integral part of our side in all formats, so we are excited to have him here for a further four seasons.”
