Record-Breaking Streaming Service

Following the conclusion of the 2021 T20 Vitality Blast season, the Club’s live streaming service has achieved record breaking figures for the second consecutive year.

In 2021, the service recorded over half a million views across the six home T20 matches that were streamed at the Uptonsteel County Ground.

This compares to the whole of the 2020 season which recorded over 120k total views, which equates to a 358% increase from 2020 to 2021.

The club confirmed enhancements were made to the streaming service earlier in the year with the addition of three cameras situated around the Uptonsteel County Ground to provide better coverage.

A further camera was placed in the commentary box of the ground to provide an additional shot of the home and away commentator.

During the 2021 Vitality Blast season, the fixtures against Durham, Yorkshire Vikings and Northamptonshire Steelbacks all accumulated individual views over 100,000.

The highest viewed match was against Durham on Sunday, June 13 with over 163,000 total views.

The highest peak of viewers came during the final group stage match versus Worcestershire Rapids on Sunday, July 18 with 10,235 people viewing at any one time.

LCCC Event Manager, Jack Bradley said: “We’ve been working to improve the streaming service throughout the 2021 season to provide better coverage than ever before.

“The viewing figures in 2020 were fantastic to achieve, however with another year under our belt to improve the service and the addition of the new cameras, we’ve seen the figures really rocket this season.”
