Leicestershire County Cricket Club is pleased to confirm the appointments of Jitin Topiwala and Iain Sutcliffe as the latest additions to the Club’s Board of Directors.
Jitin is the current Marketing Director for Busy Bees Childcare, having previously worked in similar commercial and PR roles for Homebase and Domino’s during a 20 career. He is an affinity marketing and customer care specialist, who also guest lectures at the University of Leicester School of Business.
Born and living in Leicester, Jitin has played recreational cricket for local clubs across the county and will be helping with the delivery of LCCC’s new Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan, which aims to demonstrate our total commitment to being wholly inclusive in everything we do at the heart of our multicultural community.
A left-handed opening batsman and occasional spin bowler, Iain enjoyed a successful playing spell on the Running Foxes’ books during a seven-year spell between 1995 and 2002, with a career-highest double century knock of 203 against Glamorgan.
He has taught at Wellington College since 2010 and been Deputy Head since 2019, with responsibility for community engagement and sports performance programmes.
As a skilled coach and pastoral leader with extensive safeguarding and youth sports development experience, Iain will help support our innovative Academy of Cricket. He is also the CEO of the Young African Leadership Programme, as well as a governor of a school in Mozambique.
Jonathan Duckworth, Chairman at Leicestershire CCC, said: “As a Club, we are all delighted that Jitin and Iain are now volunteering all their directly relevant experience and expertise.
“They will significantly further strengthen our new Board as part of our continuous improvement and best practice governance.â€
