Running Foxes Winter Coaching Programme 2021/2022

Leicestershire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that we will be resuming our winter coaching programme.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on indoor sport over the last 18 months. During this time, it has allowed Leicestershire CCC to have a complete review of all the coaching programmes and offers as well as completing a full rebrand. Following this review, we are looking to implement a few changes to the programme.

Firstly, to fit with the new rebrand of the club, the programme will now be called Running Foxes Winter Coaching Programme. As part of the club's new Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategy, a change will see girls able to take part in the programme for the first time.

The Running Foxes Winter Coaching Programme is designed to offer boys and girls across Leicestershire and Rutland 18-weeks of coaching to help fulfil their individual potential by offering a Winter Programme that compliments their club cricket.

The programme involves weekly hard-ball cricket sessions at training centres across the county for U11, U13, U15 and U19 age groups and will run across the winter from November 2021 to March 2022. The aim of the Winter Programme is to provide coaching to players of all abilities throughout the winter, and allow them to perform more consistently by having set targets based upon Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) deemed appropriate for each age group.

Please note that by attending the Running Foxes Winter Coaching Programme players will not automatically be nominated to attend trials for the respective Boys or Girls County Age Group Programmes. Nominations for these trials will be sent separately to clubs asking them to nominate players they feel may meet the required standard for these programmes.

We are looking to get all players that might be interested in taking part to complete the expression of interest online form using the link below.

This will give us an indication of the number of players that would like to take part and allow us to allocate suitable venues and sessions to specific age groups to meet the needs of the group. Once we have this information we will then send out details of the session that has been allocated to players, with a link to a booking and payment site. Full information on the programme and the expression of interest process can be found using the link HERE.
