DAY 2 | Leicestershire CCC v Middlesex CCC
SCORECARD | Available from Cricinfo HERE
REPORT | If the scene for the first day of the Specsavers County Championship game between Leicestershire CCC and Middlesex CCC wasn’t encouraging, then the second day was even worse.
Persistent overnight rain continued throughout the day, meaning a second successive washout was sadly inevitable.
Lots of surface water, coupled with more prolonged precipitation, meant there was absolutely no chance of the game getting started.
Umpires Steve O’Shaughnessy and Ulhas Gandhe kept an eye on proceedings but were forced to call off the day at 1pm. By 2pm, the rain was even heavier and the clouds even greyer than at the start of proceedings.
The toss and team news are still to follow. The two teams will try again tomorrow.
