Second XI 2022 Fixtures Announced

Leicestershire CCC’s Second XI will begin their 2022 campaign today (Tuesday, 12 April) with a four-day fixture against Lancashire CCC at Kibworth.
Dips Patel’s side will begin the season with a quartet of Second Eleven Championship (SEC) games, with trips to Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire flanked by the visit of Northamptonshire’s Second XI to Kibworth.
Attention will then turn to a busy block of T20 fixtures, with eight shortest format matches taking place, running from Monday, 16 May to Wednesday, 1 June.
Those fixtures include four home matches being hosted at Uptonsteel County Ground, as the Second XI make their return to the home of the Running Foxes’ First Team for the visits of Durham, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
The busy T20 schedule will be kickstarted by a feature friendly against Netherlands, as they welcome the Dutch outfit to Kibworth for a double-header on Wednesday, 11 May, while Finals Day will be held at Arundel on Thursday, 9 June “ should the Running Foxes progress.
The SEC resumes on Monday, 13 June, with a trip to Worcestershire, before Uppingham School will play host to the side for the visit of East Midlands rivals Notts.
Four further SEC matches, and a 50-over friendly at Lady Bay (also against Notts), will conclude the campaign, with the final match up at Durham starting on Tuesday, 6 September.
