The Leicestershire CCC Second XI fixtures have been confirmed for the 2018 season, with a full list available to download HERE.
Similarly to last year, the fixture list reflects the First XI campaign, meaning the start of the season will see Championship games before the 50-over Trophy campaign gets underway.
Leicestershire CCC's opening game is against MCC Universities at Kibworth on Monday, April 16, immediately followed by the first Trophy match against the same opponents.
The Second Eleven T20 competition begins in July running until early August with the fixtures taking the shape of double headers like in previous years. The Foxes again start against MCC Young Cricketers, this time away, with the fixture to be played at a venue to be confirmed.
Our opening to the season also sees friendlies in both the 3-day and 50-over format at Durham with the longer game taking place at Emirates Riverside.
Leicestershire CCC Assistant Coach John Sadler said: “It’s great to have such a busy Second XI schedule for 2018 and there are some exciting fixtures to look forward to.
“I’m really glad that the format of the schedule again mirrors the first-class schedule as it means players can practice the required skills in the Second Eleven and make a seamless transition into the First XI.
“We loved playing at Kibworth and other local venues last season and we look forward to heading around the region again in 2018.”
Some venues for the Second XI, both home and away, are to be confirmed and the fixture list will be updated in the coming weeks.
