Leicestershire Second XI suffered two defeats in the final round of T20 games against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Neil Pinner top-scored with 51 from 35 balls and Harry Swindells struck 29 off 21 as Leicestershire, who were put into  bat, made 152 all out in the first match.

A strong Warwickshire attack including Boyd Rankin (4-1-9-3), Ateeq Javid (4-0-22-3) and Tom Milnes (4-0-33-3) shared the wickets.

In reply, club captain Varun Chopra smashed 86 off 55 before being bowled by Kevin O’Brien (4-0-32-1) and although Atif Sheikh (4-0-24-2) also took two wickets, the Bears won with 15 balls to spare.

Leicestershire were again inserted in the second match and scores of 36 (37b) by Aadil Ali, 30 (19b) from O’Brien and an unbeaten 27 (22b) from the impressive Swindells took Leicestershire up to 136-9.

O’Brien claimed 2-28, and Jack Hartley picked up 2-10 from three overs and instigated a run out, but half-centuries from Jonathon Webb and Aaron Thomason saw the hosts home.

The Second XI return to action on Monday with their second Trophy game of the season against Northamptonshire at Dunstable Town CC.
