Seconds to contest Final at Ageas Bowl

Leicestershire Second XI will travel to the Ageas Bowl to face Hampshire Second XI in the Second Eleven Championship Final next week.

The 2s qualified for the Final, which is a four-day game, by winning the North group after a tight last game against Lancashire Second XI at Kibworth CC.

Hampshire Second XI, meanwhile, won five of their South group fixtures, and pipped Kent Second XI to top spot by seven points.

With both team’s HQ venues available to host the fixture, an independent draw took place to decide the venue of the showpiece fixture.

Both teams were unbeaten in the group stages so everything is set for a good game when the match gets underway on Tuesday, September 3 (10.30am start).

Please note that because of this fixture, the previously arranged Second XI Friendly v Sussex CCC at Kibworth CC, scheduled to start on Monday, will now not be going ahead.
