A Special General Meeting will be held in the Charles Palmer Suite at the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road, Leicester, LE2 8AD on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 7pm.

Background

The Directors of Leicestershire County Cricket Club Limited (the Club) are proposing to amend the Rules of the Club in order to facilitate the merger of the Club with Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Limited (known as the Cricket Board).

The objective for merging the Cricket Board with the Club is to improve participation in and delivery of community, recreational and professional cricket. It is also anticipated that the merger will lead to savings through more effective use of Cricket Board and Club staff and facilities, and will open up additional potential funding sources.

As part of the new arrangements under the merger, all the current members of the Board (which are local clubs, leagues, associations, organisations and agencies associated with cricket) will be admitted as members of the Club. The Club will also have the option of admitting additional local clubs, leagues, etc. to membership in future.

This requires some changes to the Rules: at present the Rules only provide for members who are individual people (Individual Members), not members who are organisations.
