Leicestershire will be hoping that Charlie Shreck proves a good omen on the last day of the enthralling LV=CC game at Cheltenham.
The last time Shreck played at the College Ground, his Kent side were set 411 to win on the final day and got home with 2.2 overs to spare.
Although the visitors officially won by two wickets, Brendan Nash had retired through exhaustion on the hottest day of the 2013 summer after making a sensational 199.
So it came down to last pair Calum Haggett and Shreck, who struck three fours in making 16 not out in a stand of 21.
While Shreck would be happier to see his teammates knock off the runs tomorrow, it was his 5-82 on the third day that was the key contribution to set up a chase of 325.
The in-form bowler, who now has 49 Championship wickets in 11 games, praised the way Gloucestershire went about their business and feels the wicket is now better suited to the batsmen having favoured the seamers for the first two days.
Shreck said: "I think they batted nicely. They waited for us to get tired, because we only had three frontline seamers out there. Around tea time, they were more expansive, but as a group we stuck at it.
"It's going to be a good day tomorrow. I think the tennis ball bounce on the wicket exaggerates any movement, so hopefully the heavy roller we have got tomorrow will kill some of that bounce until the ball gets a bit softer and we can make hay in the afternoon.
"It will be a good game to win from here, but I would love to sit back and watch the whole day. But we will have to see what happens."
During the day, Gloucestershire's Benny Howell posted a maiden first-class century and it has been a good week for the all-rounder, who got married on Monday.
He said: "I'm very happy. It was hard work at the start and it took me quite a while to get in, but I think after tea I started to score more freely.
"We wanted to stay positive throughout and I think their bowlers got a bit tired, so we cashed in a bit after tea. Kieran (Noema-Barnett) scored quite quickly which helped me a lot and Michael Klinger played really well as well.”
