Leicestershire CCC are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of a long-standing Member of the club, Steve Greenway.
Steve was a local man who loved sport in the region, including being a huge fan of Leicestershire County Cricket Club and Leicester City FC.
He had an association with local cricket club Electricity Sports CC and was a regular at the Fischer County Ground over the years.
Steve had many friends at Leicestershire CCC and the club are flying the flag at half-mast throughout the day, including tonight's NatWest T20 Blast game against Birmingham Bears, as a mark of respect to Steve.
Our thoughts are with Steve’s family and friends at this difficult time.
* Steve's funeral will be held at 11am on Friday, August 18 at Gilrose Cemetery. A celebration of Steve's life will then be held at the King Power Stadium. The dress code is blue and white as Steve was a big Leicester City fan.
