T20 Overseas Star Gurbaz Joins The IPL

T20 overseas star Rahmanullah Gurbaz is set to feature in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League after joining up with Gujarat Titans for the 2022 campaign.
Gurbaz will replace Jason Roy in the Titans’ ranks for the illustrious tournament, which gets underway later this month.
The 20-year-old will become the first Running Fox since fellow Afghanistan international Mohammad Nabi to represent both the Foxes and an IPL franchise in the same season.
Gurbaz will link up with his compatriots Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad in Gujarat’s squad, before continuing the Afghanistan connection when he joins Naveen ul Haq as a Running Fox for this summer’s Vitality Blast.
A stint in the IPL will be the latest instalment in a busy schedule for the well-travelled young batsman, who has already participated in the ICC T20 World Cup, Abu Dhabi T10 League, Lanka Premier League, and Pakistan Super League across the winter, as well as starring for Afghanistan in their recent series against Bangladesh.
The hard - hitting opener enjoyed successful spells in each of those series, winning the LPL in December with Jaffna Kings, finishing as third highest run-scorer as Delhi Bulls reached the T10 final, and scoring his third ODI century in just nine innings at the end of last month. Such form has earned him his maiden IPL call-up.
Gurbaz will join his newest teammates as part of one of the two latest franchise additions to the IPL, with Gujarat Titans, captained by Hardik Pandya, set to make their opening bow on March 28 against fellow newcomers Lucknow Super Giants.
