Leicestershire all-rounder Rob Taylor played his part as Scotland landed their second victory in the ICC World T20 qualifiers against Kenya in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
Taylor took 1-29 from three overs on his return from injury as Kenya scored 141-5 and Scotland cruised home by seven wickets in the 15th over.
Matt Cross, who played for our Second XI earlier this season, made 45 while another man with Leicestershire connections in Richie Berrington hit an unbeaten 34.
A stunning innings from Papua New Guinea’s Norman Vanua condemned Ireland to a first defeat in their fourth ICC World T20 qualifier at Belfast today.
Ireland found the going tough in the early exchanges and slipped to 33-4, including the loss of Niall (9) and Kevin O’Brien (4).
Number three Will Porterfield batted for the majority of the innings in making 57 not out as Ireland scored 123-9 from their 20 overs.
O’Brien, who claimed 3-8 in four overs against Nepal on Monday, continued his parsimonious form today by claiming 2-11 from his allocation.
PNG were 94-8 with three overs to go but Vanua hit four sixes in the space of six balls as they got home by two wickets with seven balls to spare.
