Taylor stars as Harborough stay up

Rob Taylor inspired Market Harborough to a win that confirmed safety in the Everards Premier League at the weekend.

Taylor (9-1-36-1) and Zak Chappell (10-1-33-2) bowled well as Harborough restricted Sileby to 200-8 and the all-rounder then smashed 110 as Harborough edged to a three-wicket victory.

It meant that Hinckley Town/CCA suffered relegation following another close game, a two-wicket loss at Barrow Town.

Ben Silver's superb 89 allowed Hinckley to put a competitive 249-9 on the board but Barrow won as Rahul Avtar struck an unbeaten 73.

To complete a hat-trick of extremely exciting matches, Loughborough Town won by a solitary wicket at Barkby United.

Tom Wells (10-3-23-1) bowled beautifully but Barkby United still scored 229 as Steve Flowers made 84.

Loughborough were 133-8 in reply but a marvellous unbeaten 85 from teenager Asish Trusz, batting at number eight, helped the visitors to get over the line.

Trusz, who smashed 11 fours and a brace of maximums, shared 63 for the ninth wicket with Bhadhal Khunti (10) and an unbroken 37 for the last wicket with Kelvin Locke (3 not out).

County batsman Lewis Hill smashed 89 as Lutterworth, who were chasing 169 to win at Syston Town, eased home by six wickets.

Kibworth, who had already wrapped up the league title, had to settle for a draw as batsmen dominated in a game at relegated Earl Shilton.

Dave Whitmore (119 not out) and Harry Pounds (50 not out) shared an unbroken 153 for the sixth wicket as Kibworth scored 275-5. Openers Hasnain Ali and Pavan Singh then put on 120 as Earl Shilton replied with 234-8.

Leicester Ivanhoe romped to a 10-wicket win after bowling Rothley Park out for just 58, Imran Khan taking 5-11 and Academy all-rounder Jack Gilford claiming 4-25.

Academy batsman Sam Evans (31 not out) and Leicestershire Second XI batsman Eben Kurtz (17 not out) ensured Ivanhoe chased the target within eight overs.
