NatWest T20 Blast returns to Grace Road on Friday, June 12 as Northamptonshire Steelbacks arrive for the Midlands derby.
Former Leicestershire favourites Josh Cobb and Shahid Afridi will be making their returns to Grace Road while current Fox Niall O’Brien will be playing against his former county.
The match could see Pakistan international stars Umar Akmal and Afridi play against each other as the Foxes look it to make it three wins in a row at home.
Umar is with the Foxes for four games in June while former Leicestershire favourite Afridi is with the Steelbacks for the first six matches of the tournament.
The duo have joined forces in international cricket, most recently in the ICC World Cup, but this is a unique opportunity to see them playing against each other for their new counties.
Umar said: “This will be my first time playing T20 for a county and I am very excited to be handed this opportunity. The club have put their trust in me so I will give my 100 per cent efforts to repay their faith.”
