Together Through This Test - Cricket Heroes

Shining a light on the Cricket Heroes in Leicestershire

As part of the nationwide campaign, Together Through This Test, Leicestershire County Cricket Club are supporting shining a light on how the cricket family in Leicestershire and Rutland has come together during COVID-19.

The campaign highlights some of the unsung heroes from across the professional and recreational game to shine a light on their incredible work during COVID-19. The Leicestershire CCC Community Team reached out to local cricket clubs to ask for their Cricket Hero nominations.

Here are just some of the Cricket Heroes from across the recreational clubs in Leicestershire and Rutland who have been nominated.

 

Dale Hardy – Buckminster and Barrowby Cricket Club 

Dale is the Head teacher at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy in Lincoln and has spear-headed a project to produce around 4,000 pieces of Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] which have been donated to 4 hospitals including Lincoln, Scunthorpe, Hull and Chester, 37 care homes and local GP surgeries and pharmacies. 

At Buckminster and Barrowby Dale is the newly elected chairman and is in the early stages of upgrading the pavilion and starting a youth set up at the club. 

 

Chantel Jacklin – Narborough and Littlethorpe Cricket Club

Chantel is a health care assistant at Limes Medical Centre and has been working on the front line during the COVID 19 crisis, caring for patients in the surgery.

Chantel is the Social co-ordinator, committee member and has also been on the tea rota for the last few years, spending many hours volunteering at Narborough and Littlethorpe Cricket Club.
