Leicestershire Under 15s have qualified for the National B Division semi-finals after finishing second in their group.
They finished behind the England Women’s team who cannot progress to the semi-finals. The Women, who fielded very strong teams in preparation for the World Cup, were the only team to beat Leicestershire in the group.
The Under 15s team has consisted mainly of Under 15 squad members but several of the Under 14s and 13s have had to step up to the team at various stages of the season and performed very well.
Standout contributions have been from Dylan Church (pictured) who has scored 485 runs with an average of 97 and highest score of 190*.
Dylan is comfortably the leading run scorer out of all the counties in the Royal London Cup this year.
The bowlers have all shared the wickets around and this is shown by four of our bowlers being in the top ten wicket-takers for the group. Uday Modhwadia leads the way with 16, whilst Prahlad Odedra has 14 and Will Legg and Harry Tyler have 10 apiece.
The team travel up to Edinburgh next week to face Scotland in the semi-final at the Grange Cricket Club on Wednesday, August 16. Everyone at the club wish the boys the very best of luck and will be following closely.
