Leicestershire Foxes Under 17s were victorious in the Royal London U17 County Cup Division B for the second year running.
Leicestershire U17s ran out convincing winners by six wickets at Attenborough Cricket Club against Hertfordshire Cricket Board in a rain-affected game in Nottingham.
Hertfordshire posted 171 for nine from 45 overs with Nathan Bowley leading the way, claiming the mightily impressive figures of four for 20 from nine overs.
Opener Dylan Church led Leicestershire u17s as they chased down their revised target of 173 from 45 overs after posting a 82 from 104 balls, including 13 fours.
Leicestershire began their reply positively by posting 58 runs for the first wicket in the eighth over after Ajay Khunti was caught from the bowling of Gandhi for 22.
The second wicket fell 21 runs later as Khunti’s replacement, Rehan Ahmed was caught off the bowling of Sardana, and Leicestershire U17s found themselves on 79 for 2.
The third wicket all but took the game away from Hertfordshire as it stood for 89 between Church and captain William Legg.
Church’s individual innings came to an end soon after as he was caught off the bowling of Orchard for 82.
Chris Yates (4no) and Oliver Winder (0no) saw County over the line, who made it back-to-back victories in the Royal London U17 County Cup. Congratulations on this fine achievement.
