University of Leicester join LCCC

Leicestershire CCC is delighted to announce that the University of Leicester School of Business has joined as our new Official Academy and Networking Partner for the 2018 season. An initial one-year deal has been signed that will see the School of Business logo proudly placed on the Academy’s kit throughout the 2018 season.

The University of Leicester School of Business is a vibrant, international and interdisciplinary community of over 200 academics and professional services staff. Building on over 90 years of experience in delivering business education, we are internationally renowned for our courses in accounting and finance, management, marketing and economics, with a global alumni network of over 30,000.

As part of the sponsorship deal, the University of Leicester will also become an Official Networking Partner of the club, joining Leicestershire CCC to deliver several high-profile business events.

Leicestershire CCC Academy Director Andy Siddall said: “We are thrilled that the University of Leicester School of Business has come on board to sponsor our Academy for the 2018 season. It’s a perfect fit given that both of us look to give young people an education that will stand them in the best possible stead for the future.”

Already one of the very best British and global universities, the University of Leicester enjoys an enviable record of research discoveries, a flair for teaching innovation and proven success in broadening access to higher education. The organisation is long-established yet focused on a future that will see it pioneer a distinctive elite of research-intensive institutions.

Professor Zoe Radnor, Dean at the School of Business said, “We are excited to partner with Leicestershire County Cricket Club as academy and networking partner for 2018. As a School, we recognise the contribution the club makes to the local community and region and look forward to working together to support young and aspiring cricketers and Leicestershire businesses.”

The partnership will open a number of opportunities for the two organisations to work together, for example, the University of Leicester and Leicestershire CCC are exploring the possibility of staging Second XI cricket at the University’s Stoughton Road ground in the future.

The University of Leicester partnership is one of several ways that organisations can help to shape the future of cricket across Leicestershire & Rutland.

Siddall said: “Our Leicestershire Young Cricketers programme for our younger age groups is completely funded by external support, and we are always looking for additional support for our Academy. We have a number of packages available for anybody interested in sponsoring a team and helping their development.”
