Update - prospects of play against Northants SET

Leicestershire CCC's opening Second XI Trophy (SET) match of the 2018 season against Northamptonshire CCC at the Fischer County Ground was abandoned without a ball bowled. Both sides therefore took a point apiece from the game.
Leicestershire Second XI is next in SET action on Friday against Yorkshire Second XI at Stamford Bridge CC.
Update 4 - 11.45am
There is a large amount of standing water at the Fischer County Ground and it is still raining steadily. The match has been abandoned as a no result.

Umpires Chris Watts and Dan Pedley will conduct an inspection at 11.30am. It is still raining though.

It's still raining heavily and steadily here, the start of the match will be delayed.

Conditions are not great at the Fischer County Ground ahead of today's Second XI Trophy fixture against Northamptonshire CCC with heavy rain currently falling. There is a blustery wind but all of the covers are on at the moment. More information will be provided throughout the day.
