Ahmed, Hull & Green Selected For England Duties

Leicestershire stars Rehan Ahmed, Josh Hull and Alex Green have been selected for England duties across the early part of the winter.
Ahmed and Hull “ who have both been capped at Test level “ will head Down Under with Freddie Flintoff’s England Lions, while Green will travel to the Caribbean for seven Youth One Day Internationals against United States and West Indies.
Both trips will stretch across November and December, with Ahmed and Hull also set to attend Lions development camps at the ECB’s Performance Centre at Loughborough University next month.
Arriving in Perth, the Lions will play England Men in a three-day warm-up at Lilac Hill from 13 November ahead of the first Ashes Test at Optus Stadium, before taking on a Cricket Australia XI at the same venue the following week.
The Lions will then face a Prime Minister’s XI in a two-day day-night match in Canberra, before concluding their tour with a four-day match against Australia A in Brisbane, at the same time as the second men’s Ashes Test.
Ahmed will then remain in Australia, having signed with Hobart Hurricanes to play in the fifteenth iteration of the Big Bash League.
18-year-old Green will be looking to add to his 28 wickets for the Young Lions as they continue their preparations for the 2026 Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup, which begins in January.
Green’s selection follows an outstanding 50-over campaign for Leicestershire, during which the Academy graduate claimed 18 wickets from seven matches at an average of 20, leaving him as the second leading wicket-taker in this year’s competition.
Michael Yardy’s side will play five Youth One-Day Internationals against West Indies and two Youth One-Day Internationals against United States in St Vincent, starting on 13 November.
