Ahmed Selected For England Tour To West Indies

Foxes star Rehan Ahmed will have the chance to add to his seven international appearances next month after being named in England’s white-ball squads for tour of the Caribbean.

Jos Buttler’s men are set to take on West Indies in three One Day Internationals, starting in Antigua on 3 December, before the first of five T20I fixtures begins at the Kensington Oval on 12 December.

The Academy graduate has featured on three occasions each in 50-over and T20 cricket for his country, taking five wickets at 23.2 and three wickets at 21.33 respectively.

Ahmed, who was awarded a two-year central contract last month, is due to fly out alongside Leicestershire teammate Rishi Patel for England Lions’ training camp in the UAE next week, which will run from 16 November to 7 December.

The camp will kickstart a busy winter for the all-rounder, who has also been snapped up by Syndey Sixers for the 2023/24 Big Bash, and ILT20 outfit Gulf Giants “ with whom he won the inaugural competition last winter.
