Aimee Colquhoun Appointed Early Engagement Lead Coach

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Aimee Colquhoun as the club’s new Early Engagement Lead Coach

Aimee Colquhoun is appointed the club’s new Early Engagement Lead Coach, marking a proud milestone for both Aimee and our Talent Pathway. Having progressed through the Leicestershire pathway since Under 11s, Aimee represents a true homegrown success story one whose journey and dedication perfectly embody the aims of the ECB’s Early Engagement Programme (EEP).

Launched as part of the game’s commitment to increasing diversity, widening access, and strengthening the link between recreational cricket and the talent pathway, the EEP is designed to broaden the base of young players entering the system and inspire lifelong participation in the sport. Aimee’s deep understanding of this pathway, combined with her on-field experience, places her in an ideal position to lead this important programme.

In her new role, Aimee will help drive forward a framework that provides more players with more opportunities, ensuring high‘quality coaching and match-play experiences for young cricketers aged 10“12. The programme emphasises local accessibility, reduced barriers to entry, and the integration of both traditional and non‘traditional cricket environments.

The club is immensely proud to see a pathway graduate step into such a significant leadership position. Aimee will continue her coaching responsibilities alongside her playing career, acting as a relatable and inspiring figure for the next generation of young players.

We congratulate Aimee on this appointment and look forward to the positive impact she will make as we continue to build a broader, more inclusive talent pathway for Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
