Ben Green Joins On Loan From Somerset

Leicestershire CCC is pleased to announce the signing of Somerset all-rounder Ben Green on a short-term loan deal.

The 26-year-old will join the Foxes for the next three rounds of the Vitality County Championship, beginning away at Derbyshire on Friday.

Green, who has appeared on 85 occasions for Somerset since his debut in 2016, will add further depth to the Leicestershire squad “ particularly the bowling department, who are currently without Josh Hull, Roman Walker, Chris Wright, Rehan Ahmed and Wiaan Mulder.

The Somerset Academy graduate joined up with his new teammates on Thursday morning after featuring in the SEC at Headingley this week “ during which he scored 66 and picked up the wicket of home ‘keeper Harry Duke.

Discussing Green’s addition, Director of Cricket, Claude Henderson, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Ben into our squad for the next month.

"Ben’s abilities with bat and ball, alongside his leadership experience, will be extremely beneficial to our squad and we’re looking forward to him contributing to our team in the coming weeks.”
