Ben Green Rejoins On Loan Until End of Season

Leicestershire CCC is pleased to announce Ben Green has rejoined the Club on loan from Somerset until the end of the season.

The all-rounder has signed for the Foxes’ final five Vitality County Championship fixtures, starting at Gloucestershire on Thursday.

As part of the loan agreement, Green will continue to be available for selection in Somerset’s white-ball fixtures.

The 26-year-old has already enjoyed two loan spells at Uptonsteel County Ground this summer, scoring 133 runs and picking up eight wickets from his four appearances.

Green’s most recent stint, a one-game loan in July, saw him set first-class career bests with both bat and ball in Leicestershire’s 123-run victory over Middlesex.

Discussing the move, Director of Cricket, Claude Henderson, said: "Ben has been a hugely popular member of our changing room during his time with the Club so far this season.

“He adds great depth to our squad with both bat and ball at a crucial time for us. We’ve had a few niggles, particularly in the bowling department, but we’re very excited by the options we have at our disposal heading into the final five matches.”

Leicestershire currently sit fourth in Division Two, 12 points behind the promotion places.
