Callum Parkinson Injury Update

The Club can today offer an update on the fitness of spinner Callum Parkinson.
The 26-year old has been struggling with a side niggle over the past two weeks, limiting his training and ruling him out of Leicestershire’s pre-season friendlies against Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
Parkinson will travel with the squad to Headingley for the Foxes’ LV = Insurance County Championship opener away at Yorkshire, starting next Thursday, while he continues a measured return to bowling plan.
He will work closely with the sports science and medicine department to accelerate his comeback, with the aim of returning to first team action during the visit to West Yorkshire.
Parkinson has been an integral part of the Club’s red-ball side in recent seasons, finishing as Leicestershire’s leading wicket-taker in each of the previous two County Championship campaigns, including reaching 50 scalps during the 2021 summer.
