Leicestershire CCC can today confirm the appointment of two new Community Talent Champions (CTC) for the Women and Girls’ game.
Aimee Colquhoun and Anand Patel will take on the roles alongside their part-time duties with Leicestershire Women, focusing on scouting female players at venues often missed by traditional talent identification methods.
The pair will target avenues such as community centres, street cricket sessions, and school competitions to discover and develop hidden gems for the Club’s pathway system.
Both CTCs are familiar with the Foxes, having been part of Leicestershire Women’s setup in recent seasons.
Aimee began her association with the Club in 2016 and has taken 81 wickets across the previous three campaigns at First Team and Under-18 level. The 21-year-old has also assumed the role of U18’s and U15’s Assistant Coach in the past 12 months.
Anand joined Leicestershire in 2023 and was appointed as Assistant Coach to Stephen Franklin in February. The 48-year-old is a specialist sports coach with a degree in Sport and Fitness Science.
Discussing the duo’s appointment, Heather Beattie, Women’s Cricket Operations Lead, said: “Both Aimee and Anand have shown incredible passion for Women and Girls’ cricket in Leicestershire and Rutland during their time with the Club.
“They know exactly the type of player and personality it takes to don the Fox throughout our setup, and we’re confident they will identify untapped talent across the county to strengthen our pathway.â€
