Club Appoints Pinto Capital To Explore Future Financing Options

Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) is pleased to announce that it has appointed sport financing company Pinto Capital LLP to explore financing options to fund the Club's future development plans.

LCCC has a detailed five-year plan, which includes a proposed £60 million pound redevelopment of Uptonsteel County Ground, and delivering on field success through investment in youth development for the County’s men and women’s cricket teams. LCCC is aiming to achieve Tier One status for its Women’s team by 2029. To achieve these ambitious aims the Club are examining potential financing options and will be supported by Pinto Capital.

Founded in 2015 by experienced financier Laurie Pinto, Pinto Capital helps top tier sporting institutions with fundraisings and engages with investors and financiers in the UK and internationally. Pinto Capital advised Hampshire County Cricket Club as it underwent a similar process and brokered the deal between Hampshire and GMR Global Pte Ltd, co-owners of the Delhi Capitals IPL team, which led to GMR Global Pte Ltd acquiring a stake in the County in September 2024.

The deal with Hampshire was Pinto Capital’s first cricket transaction, having worked extensively in football and other sports, brokering ownership deals and consulting on transactions for teams in the Premier League to the National League, Bundesliga, USL and more.
