Club Appoints Three New Board Advisors

Leicestershire County Cricket Club can today announce the appointment of three new board advisors to further support the Board as the Club heads into an exciting period both on and off the pitch.
The appointments will enable the Club to tap into the diverse perspectives and insights of industry professionals, all of whom bring a wealth of experience in areas such as finance, education, and sports governance and management.
As board advisors, all three will offer support to Leicestershire’s board of directors and play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance to further the Club’s growth. Their expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of key policies, initiatives, and strategies that will ensure the Club remains at the forefront of the sport.
Gower Member, Mark Simpson, joins as a board advisor to support on financial matters having spent much of his career as Finance Director of manufacturing businesses in the healthcare sector, as well as spending time with Leicester-based Watches of Switzerland Group PLC as Financial Controller. Mark has a keen interest in cricket and rugby, and has been a Leicestershire CCC Member for eight years.
Nick Jennings, Vice-Chancellor and President of Loughborough University also joins. World renowned for its sporting ecosystem, Nick will support the board with strategic planning for the academic offering announced as part of Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s plan to create a higher education centre. Nick is also a keen cricketer having played club cricket for 40 years.
Robin Matthews, who recently completed a 10-year term as a board director, will continue to advise the board on governance and business-related policies and procedures. Robin played first-class and List A cricket for Leicestershire CCC, as well as local club cricket for Leicester Nomads CC and Lutterworth CC.
