Club Launches Dedicated EDI Team

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is proud to announce the formation of a dedicated Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) team.

The new group will oversee efforts to embed EDI values into everyday practices across all departments of the Club, with a strong focus on fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for staff, supporters, and visitors alike.

The team, which comprises a representative from each pillar of the Club, will work collaboratively to review and enhance Club practices, ensuring that equality and diversity are woven into every aspect of LCCC operations, from hiring and training staff to hosting events and engaging with supporters.

As part of the maiden meeting, each member agreed three specific KPIs for their pillar, set to ensure accountability and measure progress across the next 12 months.

Key initiatives will focus on increasing accessibility, implementing inclusive policies, and creating an environment where everyone”regardless of background, ability, or affiliation”feels valued and championed.

Sean Jarvis, CEO of Leicestershire CCC, said: "We’re committed to making Leicestershire CCC a place where everyone feels they belong. Establishing an EDI Team is a significant step in ensuring that our values of inclusivity and respect are not only upheld but actively championed across all our work.

“We have already seen positive progress and are looking forward to further achieving the ambitions outlined in our EDI Action Plan.”

The EDI Team will also gather feedback from supporters and community stakeholders, inviting them to share ideas on how the Club can continue to evolve as a model of inclusivity and a celebrator of diversity.

The Club will release a yearly update to demonstrate its progress and EDI achievements. If you’d like to be part of Leicestershire’s progress, please submit your ideas or concerns to talktous@leicestershireccc.co.uk.
