Congrats, Crofty | Laura Crofts Announces Pregnancy

Laura Crofts will miss the 2026 season after announcing the wonderful news that she is expecting her first child in the spring.

Laura and her partner Andrew are due to welcome their baby boy in March, meaning the 33-year-old will sit out the 2026 campaign.

Arriving from Warwickshire last winter, the all-rounder debuted against Northamptonshire in April, making 14 appearances during her maiden season as a Fox.

Her 13 wickets helped Leicestershire progress to Vitality Blast League 2 Finals Day and the quarter-final stages of the Vitality T20 County Cup.

Discussing the announcement, Crofts said: “I shared our news with the team at the end of season awards evening, and it was heartwarming to see their reactions. The girls were so excited and happy for us, which was lovely.

“I’m so grateful for all the support, effort, and great memories I made with Leicestershire last year. It was a special season for the club, and our performances “ especially in the T20 competitions - were really pleasing. Everyone gelled well on and off the pitch and the coaches created such a supportive environment.

“We had a young squad but one with a lot of potential. Having that year’s experience together - with the success we had - they’re only going to go from strength to strength. It will be really exciting to see what the team can achieve in the years ahead.

“My whole life has revolved around cricket, so it’ll be nice to have a little break and a new focus. Having said that, I’ve seen the new fixture list and marked my calendar already. The plan is to get to as many games as I can and cheer the girls on from the boundary with a mini Foxes mascot alongside me.”
