De Montfort University becomes an Official Partner at Leicestershire County Cricket Club

Leicestershire County Cricket Club can today announce its newly formed partnership with De Montfort University. 

As part of the official partnership, De Montfort University will become the first organisation to feature on both the Men’s and Women’s playing trousers for T20 and 50-over cricket “ following a rule change sanctioned by the ECB earlier this year.

This newest partnership reflects the mutual commitment of De Montfort University and Leicestershire County Cricket Club to supporting education, sports, and community development. 

De Montfort University is acclaimed for its strong emphasis on academic excellence and community engagement, while Leicestershire County Cricket Club is renowned for its dedication to promoting cricket at all levels and providing opportunities for aspiring cricketers.

As part of the partnership, De Montfort University will work closely with the Club to both develop and deliver a range of initiatives aimed at promoting cricket within the local community. These initiatives will include work experience opportunities for students, coaching clinics, youth development programs, and educational workshops - all aimed at inspiring the next generation of cricketers.

Leicestershire County Cricket Club CEO, Sean Jarvis, said:
