Derbyshire Up First As 2025 Vitality Blast Fixtures Announced

Leicestershire Men will launch the 2025 Vitality Blast with an East Midlands derby against Derbyshire Falcons on Friday, 30 May at Uptonsteel County Ground.

Away trips to Northants Steelbacks (1 June) and Lancashire Lightning (4 June) follow before another home clash under the Friday night lights against Durham (6 June).

Alfonso Thomas’ side will conclude the group stage with a ‘Friday Finale’ clash against Yorkshire at Grace Road on 18 July, as the Foxes seek to build on last year’s double over the White Rose County.

19 June and 10 July are also unmissable dates for Foxes fans’ diaries, with two further fiery home derbies against Notts Outlaws and Northants Steelbacks set to divide the East Midlands.

As with 2024, Leicestershire’s away fixture against Derbyshire Falcons (14 June) will take place at Edgbaston “ with this summer’s iteration introducing ‘Midlands Mania’, a double-header day involving four sides from the Midlands.

LEICESTERSHIRE WOMEN:

Leicestershire Women will kickstart their first campaign in Vitality Blast Women’s League 2 with back-to-back away trips, battling Northants Steelbacks (Sunday, 1 June) and Yorkshire (Sunday, 8 June) respectively.

Both fixtures will feature prominently as part of double-header days alongside Leicestershire Men, while two further double-headers are set for the visits of Worcestershire Rapids (15 June) and Yorkshire (18 July) to Uptonsteel County Ground.

Led by captain Becki Brooker, the Foxes welcome the Rapids for their first home fixture as a Tier Two side, proceeding home clashes against the Steelbacks (27 June) and Derbyshire Falcons (6 July).

The reverse fixture against the Falcons at The County Ground, Derby, is set to conclude the eight-game group stage on 20 July.

Following the award of Tier Two status for the 2025 season onwards, the Foxes are part of a five-team North Group. Each county will play one another home and away, with the top two progressing to Finals Day on Saturday, 26 July.
