England Women Fixture Becomes Potential Series-Decider

England Women’s visit to Uptonsteel County Ground in September will now carry the potential for a series-decider after changes to the white-ball series against Sri Lanka were confirmed by the ECB today.

Following a request from Sri Lanka Cricket due to the confirmation of the women’s cricket tournament at the 2023 Asian Games, the England & Wales Cricket Board have mutually agreed to a revised schedule.

While the fixture’s logistics, a One Day International at Uptonsteel County Ground on Thursday, 14 September (12:30pm start), remain unchanged, the contest will now conclude the three-match series rather than open it.

Grace Road has become a fan favourite venue for England Women in recent years, with the world’s number-two ranked side set to make their seventh consecutive annual trip for this summer’s clash.

The fixture will be England Women’s second visit of the summer, with Uptonsteel County Ground also hosting a crucial pre-Ashes clash, as England A take on Australia in a three-day tour match. Tickets are available HERE.
