Uptonsteel County Ground was the venue for the SET20 between Leicestershire and Yorkshire, this being the sixth game of ten in Leicestershire’s SET20 campaign.
Rain yet again disrupted proceedings, the match being abandoned after just 0.4 overs of Yorkshire’s reply to Leicestershire’s total of 148-6 from their allotted 20 overs.
Harry Swindells skippered the Foxes, his opposite number Will Luxton called correctly, and asked Leicestershire to bat. County’s innings was given an excellent start by Jack Lees, and Sam Evans.
A half century partnership was posted after 6.4 overs. Lees and Evans had added 68 for the first wicket when Lees (34) 27b departed attempting to reverse sweep.
County’s score had progressed to 99-2 from 13.4 overs when Evans went to his 50 (7x4) 43b. A further six runs had been added when Evans (55) 46b was bowled by left arm spinner Josh Hen-Bosein.
Leicestershire’s innings then somewhat stalled, but a late flurry from Sam Wood (15) 18b and Roman Walker (19*) 10b saw the Foxes post 148-6 from 20 overs.
Yorkshire’s reply commenced at 3.04pm, but only four balls were possible before further torrential downpour led to the players leaving the field. At 3.47pm the match was abandoned, Yorkshire on 1/0. Both sides taking one point each.
