Family Funday is back! One of the most popular events in the LCCC calendar returns to Uptonsteel County Ground tomorrow, and it’s shaping up to be better than ever!

With a host of exciting activities going on around the ground, a chance to meet the Foxes First Team stars, and the opportunity to grace the hallowed turf at Grace Road, this Sunday is set to be the ultimate family day out.

Get your face painted, witness an exotic animal display, put your design skills to the test in our arts & crafts marquee, and watch the table-topping Foxes as they take on Yorkshire Vikings in the finale of the Metro Bank One Day Cup group stage.

And what’s better? Kids get in for just a quid, while a family ticket (2 Adults & 2 Juniors) is just £26 for over eight hours’ entertainment. What a bargain!

Family Funday Activities:

 11am “ 6pm: Leicestershire Foxes vs Yorkshire Vikings “ After winning six of their seven matches so far in the competition, the Foxes are one win away from securing a home semi-final. There’s a lot riding on this fixture “ so cheer as loudly as you can for your Foxes.

11am “ 1pm: Lionesses vs Spain “ As well as cheering on Leicestershire, you can show your support for England’s Lionesses in their World Cup Final showdown with Spain. Shown on various screens across the ground, including The Meet, The Fox Bar and The Charles Palmer Suite.

·         10am “ 4pm: Arts & Crafts “ Put your design skills to the test and create something to treasure alongside the memories of an unforgettable day at Uptonsteel County Ground. Located in the Marquee next to the Melton Building Society Family Stand.

·        10am “ 4pm: Bouncy Castle & Inflatables “ No Family Funday experience would be complete without a bounce and slide. Located in the Foxes Den at the far end of the Curzon Road car park.

·        10am “ 4pm: Face Painting “ Get in the mood for our exotic animal display by painting your face in the colours of your favourite animal. We recommend a Fox.

·        12pm “ 4pm: Animal Display “ See a range of exotic animals and creepy crawlies in our Mike Turner Indoor Cricket Centre. From skunks to skinks, and spiders to snakes, we’ve got it all. And you might even get the chance to hold a few…

·        12pm “ 4pm: Cricket Nets “ When you’ve seen the pros show their skills in the middle, you’ll certainly want to test your own skills in the nets. We’ve got you covered. Led by our professional coaching team, join us in the Mike Turner Indoor Cricket Centre and show us what you’ve got.

·        2:20pm “ 2:50pm: Interval Pitch Activities “ Ever wanted the chance to feel like a Foxes star and step onto the Uptonsteel County Ground turf? Here’s your chance. Grab a bat and ball and feel like a Leicestershire legend.

·         6:30pm (approx.): Autograph and Selfie Session -  Grab a quick snap with your favourite player or get some Foxes memorabilia signed by the Leicestershire First Team on the pitch. A great way to round off a special day at the cricket.

That’s not all. Balloon animal makers, cheerleaders, Charlie Fox, as well as emergency service personnel and their vehicles, will also be around to provide a day of non-stop fun at the Foxes’ home.

Expanded food and drink venders will also be in operation across the ground to provide a mouth-watering snack or thirst-quenching refreshment to refuel you for your next activity. 

Gates open from 10am, while car parking will be available at Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium, which is a 10-15 minute walk from the stadium.
