Four Leicestershire Players Selected for The Blaze Academy 2026

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is proud to announce that four players from our women’s pathway have been named in The Blaze Academy cohort for 2026 - a fantastic achievement that highlights the continued strength of female cricket development at the Club.

Selected Players

Faith Teekasingh (Leicestershire / Cricket East, U17 Batter)
Faith joins the Blaze Academy as part of the youngest intake, having impressed across both county and regional age-group cricket. Her selection reflects the progress she has made as a technically gifted top-order batter and her growing consistency at the crease.

Isla Williamson (Leicestershire, U18 Seamer)
Isla’s inclusion is a testament to her commitment and improvement as a developing pace bowler. A homegrown Fox, she has progressed through the Leicestershire system and continues to show great potential with the ball in hand.

Ellie Phillips (Leicestershire, U19 All-rounder)
Ellie’s versatility as both a powerful middle-order batter and handy seam option has earned her a deserved place in the Academy. Phillips really made a name for herself in 2025 in her debut season for the Foxes, winning Bowler of the Year and proving to be a valuable addition to the squads during their first season in tier 2.

Flora Davies (Leicestershire, U18 Batter)
Flora, who will be entering her fourth year with The Blaze Academy, continues her development with the regional academy. Known for her elegant stroke play and calmness under pressure. Flora became the first female player to hit a hundred for Leicestershire at Uptonsteel County Ground. She has become a key member of the Leicestershire women’s squad and a role model for younger players in the pathway.

For Leicestershire, having four players recognised at regional level is an outstanding reflection of the Club’s investment in its women’s and girls’ programmes. The Blaze Academy plays a vital role in developing the next generation of professional cricketers across the East Midlands, providing high-performance coaching, match exposure and personal development opportunities.

Stephen Franklin, LCCC Women’s Head Coach, said: “I’m incredibly proud to see Faith, Isla, Ellie and Flora selected for The Blaze Academy. Each of them has worked extremely hard, shown great attitude, and demonstrated the skill and professionalism needed to take the next step.

I’ve been fortunate to coach all four at different stages of their journeys, and it’s been brilliant to watch their growth both as players and as people. Their selections are richly deserved, and I know they’ll continue to represent Leicestershire CCC with pride as part of The Blaze programme.”
