Foxes Members Help Shape the Future of Leicestershire CCC

A passionate and constructive Members’ Forum took place at Uptonsteel County Ground on Monday evening, as supporters came together to discuss the future of the Club.

Hosted by Chief Executive Sean Jarvis, the forum provided an open platform for members to share their views on a range of important topics”from ground redevelopment and women’s cricket to matchday experience, commercial growth, and community impact.

The event formed part of the Club’s wider commitment to building a modern, inclusive and sustainable future, while staying rooted in the traditions and values of Leicestershire cricket.

“It was fantastic to welcome so many familiar faces to Grace Road for a real conversation about where we’re heading as a Club,” said Jarvis.

“The insight and enthusiasm on show made clear that our members care deeply about the direction of travel”and want to be part of shaping it. We’ve taken everything on board and will now be working through the next steps.”

Key Themes from the Evening:

  • Ground Redevelopment “ Strong backing for the Club’s ambition to modernise the Uptonsteel County Ground, with calls for improved accessibility, enhanced seating, and upgraded facilities for fans and players alike.

  • Matchday Experience “ Members shared ideas around food and drink, entertainment, and creating a more vibrant and welcoming atmosphere”particularly for families and younger audiences.

  • Women’s and Girls’ Cricket “ Attendees expressed strong support for expanding the women’s programme, calling for greater visibility, investment in pathways, and a clear strategy for growth.

  • Calendar Structure “ Many members voiced concerns around the structure and flow of the domestic cricket calendar. Feedback included a desire for better balance between formats, greater consistency of home fixtures, and ensuring more weekend cricket at Grace Road. The Club will continue to raise these points with the ECB and advocate on behalf of its members.
